I've grown up in Saint - Brieuc, in France.
I was young when I began practising
karate, kick - boxing, and I've gone on
with kung - fu and taekwondo. When
Laurent asked me to appear as Kito in
"Bacchus", I was very happy to have the
occasion of expressing my practise
in his first film.
We trained in a garage at first, with
simple gestures, then, little by little, we
complicated the movements.
Laurent wanted each scene to be
realistic, that was his sentence :
"Don't worry, if you touch me, what do I
risk ? a big bruise, that's all !"
We appeared in a scene where he was
bare - chested and I had only a slipover
on, but it was winter - time !
We were cold but we kept on moving to
keep warm ! I was surprised with what
the editing revealed, really.
